Parkhouse joins Zenrec

February 27th, 2008

Zenrec.net is delighted to welcome Parkhouse Recruitment to our network.

Parkhouse Recruitment is already an established name in the British marketplace, and arrives in Northern Ireland as a combination of a proven UK brand name and some experienced local expertise.

The new Parkhouse operation in Belfast is being headed up by Adrian Donaghy, an experienced recruitment industry manager with 8 years in the business both in Northern Ireland and in Dublin. Parkhouse, which forms part of the Dutch-headquartered £9 billion international Vedior Group, was established back in 1992 to provide both temporary and permanent staffing solutions to clients within the Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Technical and Engineering sectors.

The company has a network of 24 offices around the British Isles and has since developed a strong reputation across a number of technical sectors, which has resulted in seeing them being reawarded onsite Contracts with BP, Caterpillar and Perkin's Engines for many years in a row. "Parkhouse is well known for supplying quality staff to blue chip businesses and we already have a number of clients fitting that bracket here in Northern Ireland," says Adrian Donaghy.

"Manufacturing industry and the technical sector is the area we've built our reputation in, so we'll continue to concentrate on it,

Focusing on developing our SME business yet maintain the high-end, high volume contracts we are currently managing. By focusing one hundred percent of our time on our core specialist sectors, we guard against our efforts and expertise being diluted through diversification." adds Donaghy.

He feels that there is something of a void in the local recruitment marketplace between the 'top end' larger groups and the plethora of small operators serving the lower end of the spectrum.

"There is clearly room for a professional mid-market operation specialising in engineering and manufacturing clients," he says. Like others in the industry, he's concerned about the work of small operators at the lower end of the market, and the fact that a few poor reputations can harm the overall image of the sector here.

"It's incumbent upon all of us in the business to make sure that standards are upheld and that our overall reputation isn't affected in any way. "To do that, we need to avoid looking on our competitors as the enemy. A lot can be gained by brainstorming and working together in a similar way to the GB and Dublin marketplace."

On the day to day operation of the business, Adrian Donaghy emphasizes the importance of quality customer service. "By developing open and effective relationships with both clients and candidates, we have quickly become a trusted and valued partner in the recruitment process. We understand the importance of meeting precise needs, on time and within budget.

"Of course, it can be hard to attract good candidates every time, but that's what our customers are trusting us to do for them....and that's what we have to deliver. As a result we spend over £350k in Web Advertising alone before you even factor in conventional forms of advertising like the print media."

As well as established links with GB through the Parkhouse network, the company has strong links via ultimate parent company Vedior with the Eastern European recruitment network. This provides a strong source of excellent qualified candidates for engineering and manufacturing vacancies. Three significant contracts have already been gained using this facility. Adrian Donaghy works alongside a small team of two professional recruitment consultants, Jennifer Rosbotham and Shaun Gilmartin. His objective is to scale the business in an effective manner whilst ring fencing the current investment made by the Group. Regional Director John Franklin, missing from the photographs, is particularly delighted at the new venture. "Having spent many years in Northern Ireland in various Production Director roles, I am pleased to be charged with developing the Northern Irish marketplace with a very strong and experienced team.

Manufacturing is an area I have considerable expertise in and it is the main reason I chose Northern Ireland above all other locations for Parkhouse's new branch opening." "Manufacturing output has significantly increased since I last worked here and exports are at a record high. As local companies are becoming more global in their ambitions, Parkhouse are perfectly placed in assisting the growth in their recruitment requirements with our extensive office network via our parent company Vedior."
