Our Client Thompson’s Feeds are currently recruiting for a Logistics Manager / Production Support to assume overall responsibility for the logistics and production support functions to maximise customer service and production efficiency and minimise haulage costs.
THE LOGISITCS MANAGER / PRODUCTION SUPPORT DUTIES WILL:
- Effectively manage production support staff across all sites and efficiently use labour resources to include logistics, raw material intake and bulk out loading etc
- Effectively manage haulier contracts and service level agreements
- Proactively manage demand to smooth demand peaks
- Implement and monitor Kanban and lean management systems
- Lead business improvement processes, including change management, lean principles and supply change management
- Liaise closely with customer hauliers to maximise customer service levels and mill efficiency
To be considered for the position of Logistics Manager / Production Support you must possess the following skills and experience…
- HNC or equivalent or hold an appropriate qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management or related discipline
- 4 Years senior experience managing in a logistics function
- Competent use of standard computer packages
- Capable of leading and motivating a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Problem solving and good time management skills are essential
