The successful candidate will manage the procurement and stock control functions within the business, providing a full range of advisory, planning and control services in support of TS Foods objectives.

Relevant Experience
· Previous experience in procurement or purchasing management
· Experience in negotiating autonomously with suppliers and in making key decisions affecting the company’s relationship with its suppliers
· Experience of JiT procurement in a production environment
· Experience in working with computerised stock control systems

· Valid full driving licence and vehicle available for business use
· Medically able to perform the physical aspects of the job including working in cold temperatures.
· Absence of any skin disorders or other conditions that may prevent working with food
Key Responsibilities
· Provide sourcing, tendering and contracting advice and services to all areas of the company in relation to the procurement of raw materials, packaging, consumables, plant, services and utilities.
· Provide input to the development of the company business strategy relative to procurement activity and its interdependence on other business areas.
· In conjunction with the Operations Director, prepare annual procurement budgets and review, analyse and report against budgets on a regular basis, explaining any major variances.
· Source and evaluate suppliers/potential suppliers on multiple criteria including price, quality, availability, reliability, selection and customer service.
· Negotiate with suppliers/potential suppliers to ensure the company is receiving the best quality goods at the best prices and grant contracts that ensure provision of supplies on a JIT basis where required.
· Liaise with the Production Manager to ensure a suitable logistical flow for receiving and storing goods inward and ensure all such goods are properly checked and recorded.
· Ensure that company procedures are adhered to with regard to ordering, payment and charging of materials and goods.
· Liaise with the Quality Manger to ensure the suitability of any proposed new suppliers in relation to their quality standards.
· Produce regular procurement activity reports and other information as required by the management team to assist with sales, financial and operational planning and to inform future business direction.
· Configure and utilise IT capability to its full advantage in order to enable the storage and micro-management of stock control and inventory tracking information, the tracking of supplier performance, issue of purchasing orders/contracts, sourcing of supplier information and order/inventory tracking and lead the company in exploring purchasing related software enhancements.
· Ensure that JIT deliveries of raw food materials are based on available cold store space.
· Assist the Production Manager to plan production scheduling to meet the sales forecasts.
· Liaise with the Production Manager, NPD Manager and any other affected areas to ensure adequate forecasting of the impact, cost, availability and suitability of any requisite supplies and the adherence to planned production scheduling.
· Oversee the despatch function within the business to ensure goods have been loaded and despatched appropriately and manage the timely and efficient delivery of goods to the company’s multiple retail customers.
· Remain aware of sales history prediction analysis and stock inventory levels and research product supply and demand in order to inform procurement decision making.
· Establish and maintain positive business relationships with suppliers and ensure any incoming goods discrepancies are investigated and resolved in a satisfactory manner.
· Manage the stocktaking function and ensure all variances are fully investigated
· Establish and implement delivery schedules for regular suppliers.
· Operate the company forklift to move stock on an as required basis.
· Any other duties, within reason and capability, as determined by the Operations Director.
