Relevant Experience
· Previous experience in FOOD RETAIL sales or business development management
· Experience in selling to multiples and major retailers in the food sector
· Proven track record of sales achievement in a challenging environment
· knowledge of the retail and food services market in ROI and GB
· Experience in reviewing, extracting, analysing and presenting sales related management information
· Understanding of basic financial data (ie. profit margins, cost of sales)
Skills and Competencies
· Exceptionally well developed interpersonal skills
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including strong presentation and influencing skills
· Proven ability to negotiate effectively in reactive and flexible situations
· Evidence of effective analytical, problem solving and decision making abilities
· Evidence of strong organisational, planning and time management skills
· Demonstrated ability to formulate and maintain effective, long term business relationships with key customers
· Demonstrated ability to independently achieve results using own initiative
· Proficient in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software, email and the internet
· Numeracy skills
Personal Qualities
· Able to work flexibly as required to ensure business requirements are achieved
· Able to travel extensively within the ROI and UK
· Valid full driving licence
Key Responsibilities
· In conjunction with the Commercial Director, develop and ensure the execution of challenging personal KPIs, construct sales forecasts and monitor and report on sales achievement.
· Provide input to the development of a robust export sales strategy designed to exploit the unique range of products currently in existence and under development at the company.
· In conjunction with the Commercial Director, prepare sales budgets by product and customer and analyse sales performance against budgets.
· Prepare annual account plans and gain customer agreement.
· Identify, profile, analyse and implement new business opportunities in the ROI and GB market and ascertain the most appropriate means of entry in each case.
· Build and maintain strategic business partnerships with multiples and key customers in the ROI and GB market that will ensure the development of long term contract business and foster strong and positive communications.
· Introduce prospective customers to the company and its products through the use of formal presentations, client visits and meetings.
· Provide product guidance, negotiate pricing and delivery requirements and agree credit terms with customers.
· Propose price promotions and short term product offers and liaise with suppliers to agree terms.
· Ensure that promotions and offers are ready to present to multiples during regularly scheduled business reviews.
· Liaise with store managers to ensure TS Foods product lines obtain optimal shelf positioning.
· Contribute to new product development, customer care and the company’s approach to quality through the presentation of customer feedback and market research.
· Represent the company at relevant exhibitions and shows, building brand awareness in order to generate and secure new business contacts.
· Effectively liaise with the Production Manager and Quality Manager to ensure customer needs are met.
· Follow up on late payments relative to food services accounts.
· Maintain contact with customers on a regular basis to ensure they are satisfied with the company’s products and services and resolve any areas of complaint to the satisfaction of the customer.
· Produce regular sales activity and financial reports and other information as required by the management team to assist with sales, financial and operational planning and to inform future business development direction.
· Ensure the timely completion of administrative documentation to support sales achievement.
· Any other duties, within reason and capability, as determined by the Commercial Director.
