Our client, Irish Nationwide Building Society is one of Ireland's oldest financial institutions, and has a network of over 50 locations and 40 agents in the Republic of Ireland, Britain and Northern Ireland offering a comprehensive range of mortgages, savings and investment products.
The Society wishes to establish a team in Belfast to manage the work associated with the transfer of relevant UK based assets to the National Assets Management Agency (NAMA) currently being set up by the Irish government.
JOB PURPOSE:
As well as undertaking portfolio analysis, you will review submissions from data collectors, assist with and write both high level and in-depth reports and monitor progress.
The successful candidates will report to the NAMA Team Leader, while working closely with the Commercial Lending Department to shape the Society’s portfolio analysis framework.
Although Nationwide holds a strong position in development finance, there will be exposure to the full suite of mortgage and property lending products, with clients encompassing many of the largest operators in this market. The successful candidates will work primarily with the relationship teams but will also liaise with various other Departments within the Society.
The role offers an excellent opportunity for increased exposure to a depth and breadth of experience across products types, customer groups and geographies. It offers complementary exposure to related departments and disciplines such as legal, accounting and valuation, while sitting with an experienced commercial lending team.
Key Duties
- Analysis and reporting on existing Portfolios – review submissions from Data Collectors
- Assisting in the establishment of process and procedures that accurately capture key portfolio statistics such that information is an accurate and useful decision making tool
- Monitoring daily, weekly and monthly reports. Ensuring the integrity of portfolio detail (tenors, security, valuation, performance, outlook etc)
- Report writing - assisting in preparing both high level and in-depth reporting requirements for presentation internally and to external stakeholders/regulatory bodies etc
- Involvement in ad hoc projects
To be considered for the position of Credit Analyst you must possess the following skills and experience…
- A high level of attention to detail required in view of nature of accounts to be managed.
- A minimum of 2 years relevant commercial banking experience, ideally within a property team
- A third Level Business / Finance / Accounting Qualification.
- A high level of interpersonal and communication skills, necessary in view of level of contact with different business units.
- An ability to work within a team environment.
- Good presentation skills.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to demonstrate initiative.
- A good working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
Salary…
£35,000 to £40,000
These positions are full time based on 37.5 hours per week.
Vacancy will last between 6-12 month period.
